Shropshire: Tai Chi & Qigong

  • Montgomery Town Hall Broad Street Montgomery, Wales, SY15 6PH United Kingdom (map)

INSTRUCTOR SIMON THACKERY

Running continuously every Wednesday.

Foundational Qigong exercises are designed to emphasise circularity and to build a sense of soft, continuous movement in the body, while releasing bound tensions. Basic alignments and postures allow you to stand or sit in a vibrant and relaxed state. These alignments are carried forward into all your Qigong and your Tai Chi. We also work on breathing.

I teach a short form of the Yang style Tai Chi of Yang Chen Fu, as taught to me by my teacher Paul Cavel. This is an ideal Tai Chi for beginners, designed to open up the body and move smoothly through the form with relaxation, balance and circularity - it is a truly beautiful thing to be able to do! In time, we'll also look at movements specifically designed to embody Taoist Neigong, to feel, move and transform the internal energies along the pathways of your body.
